The Pound
It's been low-key for the Pound recently. Conference season kicked off with the Manchester meeting for the Conservatives, and the Prime Minister did pick up some points in his approval rating so perhaps a Labour win next year is not as likely as it was a few months ago.
Either way, political uncertainty is going to weigh more on the Pound as we approach a General Election. House prices as reported by Halifax are still under ‘downward pressure’ and fell 5% in the last year. Gilt yields are up 1.9 bps to 4.565%.
